The First Gaming Prescription Drug

Image
Perhaps in the near future, doctors will prescribe such a "prescription" for children: play games for half an hour every day . This is not a fantasy, but something that has already happened. Recently, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the first-ever video game for medical purposes, EndeavorRx , which is different from our traditional perception. This is a video game "prescription drug". According to reports, this special "prescription drug" will be used to treat children from 8 to 12 years old with ADHD. Hyperactivity disorder refers to a syndrome that occurs in childhood and is characterized by obvious difficulty in concentration, short duration of attention, excessive activity or impulsivity compared with children of the same age. The disease may lead to insufficient self-confidence and interpersonal relationships. Distressed and difficult to study or work. A meta-analysis of 67 studies and a total of 275,502 people showed that the compr...

BionicSwift Robot Bird fFlying With Artificial Feathers

Image
Festo researchers announced the creation of a new bionic project called "BionicSwift". The robot bird can use artificial feathers to fly. The researchers used indoor radio-based GPS and ultra-wideband technology to model the feathers of real birds, allowing mechanical birds to fly safely in a coordinated mode within prescribed airspace. The core structure of the robot bird adopts a lightweight structure. Low weight is important because the smaller the weight moved faster and the less material is required. BionicSwift weighs 42 grams, has a body length of 44.5 cm and a wingspan of 68 cm. The designer said that this ratio makes the bird can fly in a circle and make right turns. The designer created as close as possible to the natural wings of the BionicSwift model. The individual sheets are made very light and flexible but very strongly, overlapping each other. The feather is attached to a carbonaceous blade then attached to the actual wings. When punching on the wings, the sl...

Facebook Develops Neural Supersampling Technology

Image
SIGGRAPH 2020 conference is about to be held, and Facebook researchers published an article today, introducing the "neural supersampling" (neural supersampling) technology. This is an algorithm technology based on artificial intelligence machine learning to improve image clarity, which is not much different from NVIDIA's DLSS "deep learning supersampling" technology. However, this neural supersampling does not require special hardware or software to achieve the results and basically comparable to the effect of DLSS. On the other hand, Nvidia recently released Deep Learning Supersampling (DLSS), which can process low-resolution images through neural networks in real time and enlarge the samples. In this article, there is introduce of a new method that makes modern game engines easy to integrate, does not require special hardware or software, and can be applied to many existing software platforms. For neural supersampling, the additional auxiliary information prov...
