A huge Dragon Was Found On Mars! By NASA

The dragon is a symbol of China and a mysterious and huge creature in mythology. Since ancient times, the appearance of "dragon" has been regarded as a sign of auspiciousness and a symbol of power. Recently, NASA (NASA) shared a photo of a gigantic "Chinese dragon" that appeared to be on Mars, and the NASA scientific team was also excited. This huge Chinese dragon is actually a canyon of Mars, part of the Mariner's Canyon near the Martian equator. The Mariner ’s Canyon is the largest and longest canyon in the solar system, with a length of 3769 kilometers and a depth of more than 7 kilometers. It traverses Mars like a huge scar and is the most obvious feature on Mars.


The "Chinese Dragon" discovered this time was taken by the high-resolution imaging scientific equipment (HiRISE) of the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter that NASA launched into Mars orbit 14 years ago and is operated by a team of scientists from the University of Arizona. This dragon is located in the southwestern part of the widest part of the Mariner's Canyon-Melas Chasma (Melas Chasma). The photo was taken in 2017 and has not attracted people's attention before. When the scientists rotated the image, they suddenly discovered this remarkable feature, which can be said to be almost identical to the image of the Chinese dragon. The HiRISE team posted it on Twitter, saying that from this perspective, it is very similar to the legendary Chinese dragon.


The light-colored landforms that formed the "dragon" were actually sedimentary rocks formed by the flow of water when Mars had liquid water billions of years ago. It is conceivable that when Mars was ancient, there must be beautiful scenery and a pleasant climate. As for the existence of life, will there be a real "dragon" soaring, maybe the future Mars exploration will give us a positive answer. Surprisingly, the elevation of Milas Canyon is 11 kilometers lower than the surrounding terrain. It is the deepest part of the Mariner Canyon. If the future manned landing on Mars, this will be the best landing site.
