As the price and popularity of consumer drones drop, the trouble it causes to soldiers, security officials, and airport staff is also increasing. In response to the arrival of uninvited guests, the British drone defense company Drone Defense claims that it has developed the smallest portable solution on the market, which is the Paladyne E1000MP drone jammer with a split design. Although the jamming gun and the control box were separated, the two-part structure of the Paladyne E1000MP was separated, but in principle it is still the same as other competing products. By transmitting electromagnetic interference signals to the target drone, affecting its communication control, GPS positioning and remote video transmission, the drone that is disconnected from the operator will enter the "safe mode"-landing on the spot or turning back to the take-off point .
In terms of performance, Drone Defense claims that the Paladyne E1000MP has an effective working range of 1 km (0.6 miles) and can work with directional/omnidirectional antennas. Directional antennas can gather interfering signals onto a specific drone, while omnidirectional antennas can cover a larger protective area. The user can even detect and call the drone's control frequency to manually activate its classified function, and then through further observation to find the drone operator behind the scenes. It is worth mentioning that Paladyne E1000MP also has an IP56 degree of protection (can withstand high-pressure water flow) and can be used at temperatures from -20ºC to 60°C (-4ºF to 140ºF). The weight of the jamming gun is 3.5 kg (7.7 lb), and it can last for 2 hours on a single charge. Even so, DroneShield's DroneGun MkIII only weighs 1.95 kg (4.3 lbs).
