Social media giant Facebook today launched the Hacker Plus bug bounty program, and referenced airlines and hotel chains’ member loyalty reward policies. In other words, if you have a good record in the past, Hacker Plus will also give the bug discoverer some extra bounty and special treatment. Any researcher who has submitted a bug to the Facebook bug bounty program will be automatically included. Facebook stated that the company will conduct a "regular evaluation" of the performance of security researchers based on the cumulative number, score, and proportion of vulnerabilities submitted in the past year. According to the score, contributors will be given five categories of status by the alliance, namely bronze, silver, gold, platinum, and diamond. Each group of security researchers has its own advantages and characteristics. The most common benefit is that they can receive additional rewards after successfully submitting a bug. Starting at 12 o'clock on October 9, 2020, UTC, Facebook will begin to calculate additional bonuses for Hacker Plus.
For the entry-level bronze category, the bounty can be increased by 5% (not more than US$500). The highest diamond group has a 20% bonus. In addition, high-level (gold/platinum/diamond) researchers can get an exclusive invitation to stress-test new products and features before they are released. Finally, researchers in the diamond and platinum groups will also be invited to participate in some activities (board and lodging are waived), but the specific arrangements will depend on the changes in the COVID-19 health crisis response policy. For more details about the FBDL project, please check the official website. In addition to paying attention to their own performance on the Facebook bug bounty program website, security researchers who have made greater contributions can also get cross-level promotions.
